Nouvelle Planète organizes all phases of the camp: the preparation period, the travel to the host country, the return and feedback period. The team of Nouvelle Planète in Lausanne and the field coordinators combine an experience of more than 25 years in camp organisation.
IIn Switzerland, the team organises the preparation meetings (for all participants or for animators only), and books the flights. Nouvelle Planète also subscribes to a liability insurance (in case of damages caused to others during group preparation or camp activities), and to a cancellation-repatriation insurance, for all participants. Each group is followed by one member of the Nouvelle Planète's team throughout the preparation period. She/he will give advices to the group, attend certain meetings, review the minutes of meetings, etc.
In the host country, the field coordinator of Nouvelle Planète (Nouvelle Planète local office or local partner) is responsible of the organisation of the camp. She/he welcomes the group and introduces the members to the local partners. The field coordinator is reachable 24/7 during the period of the camp. On the long term , she/he plans and follows the aid project supported by the Swiss group.
The animators are members of the group. They agree to endorse this crucial role on a voluntary basis, starting at the beginning of the preparation period. They organize, animate, and motivate the group. They also stimulate the initiatives of the members and coordinate the fundraising actions. They maintain regular internal (between group members) and external (with Nouvelle Planète) communication. They follow a 2-day training organized by Nouvelle Planète during the preparation period. This role requires a sense of organization and group facilitation (no previous experience is required). When you register, you can mention your interest for this role without any obligation on your part. Register for a camp.
The animators and the Nouvelle Planète's team are not responsible for the camp participants. Each participant is responsible for her/himself. She/he must manage her/himself independently and must involve her/himself actively within the group during the preparation period and during the stay in the host country.
