The camps are solidarity journeys during which participants actively engage themselves in helping underprivileged populations of the South. The age of participants ranges from 17 to 35. After approximately 8 months of preparation in Switzerland, participants are immerged into the life of a village, participating in the implementation of a mutual help project as well as several village activities. The work on a development or environmental project is primarily a way to interact with the local population. It also symbolically contributes to the improvement of the economic, social or environmental situation of the host country. A camp experience emphasizes on the commitment to solidarity and allows an encounter with different cultures of our world.
The journey lasts three weeks and takes place during the months of July and August. The group preparation starts in the beginning of November prior to the year of departure.
The upcoming camps will leave in July and August 2013.
An information and camp creation meeting will be held on
Sunday, November 11th in Zürich and Friday, November 16th 2012 in Lausanne.
